Vegetarian Fast Food

from EVU News, Issue 2 /1998 - Deutsch

Business idea awarded prize by the ETH (Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Federal Technical University of Switzerland) and McKinsey Consultants.

brothers Christian and Reto Frei, two brothers from Switzerland, won first prize in a business plan competition in February for their idea of creating a chain of fast food restaurants offering exclusively vegetarian food. Of the 215 projects by 500 students entered in the competition, this was the only non-technical project.

In the second round of the competition in May, where the main focus was the business plan, they were once again awarded a prize. Both of them have been vegetarian for many years and are now striving to begin the implementation of their project in the Zurich area.

Fast, healthy and yummy

The Frei brothers are not planning on offering tofu burgers, meat analogues or junk food, but dishes made of natural, organic foods with lots of raw food, vegetables and fruit. A specific target group will be children and teenagers.
