Thanks to Gordon Latto

from EVU News, Issue 3 /1998

As a child growing up in the 1930s in a vegetarian family, I am infinitely grateful that my parents knew Gordon Latto. I thus received treatment from him at an early age and for many years after. His diagnosis was always swift and sure and his simple but sound remedies helped the body to heal itself. He had the ability to cheer up any despondent patient and I am sure each one, famous or not received the same kindly attention. This way one was encouraged to take the chill ing water treatment, the bitter herbs or whatever basic remedy was prescribed, full of hope. I remember his home and garden as full of light, where plants and flowers flourished. His knowledge of the 'inner-man' stemmed from his long association with the Order of the Cross, the Christian non-denominational fellowship which advocates compassion towards living things and the adoption of a bloodless diet. He became a member of the order in 1934. No doubt he ab sorbed the teachings concerning the ultimate, complete healing that comes from within when life is attuned to universal laws beyond outward phenomenia.

In his lifetime he had seen a great increase in the number of vegetarians. I am sure that he himself did much to further this trend through his example and successful pioneering of alternative medicine.
