Tina Fox has been Chief Executive of the Vegetarian Society of the UK since May 1995 . Vegetarian since 1972, Tina became active in the movement as soon as she adopted the diet, first of all with the local group and then founding her own group, Wirral Animal Rights in 1980. Her role as local contact eventually led to Tina becoming a Trustee of the Society in 1993. As well as the Vegetarian Society Tina has been and still is involved in the wider green movement. Prior to her position in the Society Tina was a member of the UK Green Party, standing for both local and parliamentary elections, and she convened the Animal Rights working group. She is currently both Patron and Trustee for the local Wirral Green Alliance.

Tina is married with two teenage stepchildren and lists among her interests: cats, antiques, gardening ( organic of course!), reading, travel, and dance. She is also a professional writer specialising in vegetarian issues and animal folklore although she finds she no longer has time currently for such work.
