Mrs. Irina Medkova is the founder and vice-president of the Vegetarian Society in Russia. She is doctor of Medicine, the corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, the author of more than 100 scientific articles and the co-author of several books on vegetarianism like: "All about Vegetarianism", "The Curing Food", "Vegetarianism and Health, Kindness and Beauty", etc. She is author of the first in Russia patented method of curing the ischemic heart disease by balanced vegetarian diets. She is also director of the Scientific and Practical Centre of the Vegetarian Society. She is EVU Board Member.

Mrs. Tatyana Pavlova is the founder and the President of the Vegetarian Society in Russia. She has a BA of Biological Sciences, a BA of the English Language and is co-author of the following books: "All about Vegetarianism", "The Surprises of the Vegetarian Table", etc. She has also written books on Bio-Ethics.

She took part in the organisation of the vegetarian movement for the protection of animals and is director of the Centre for Ethical Treatment of Animals.

She is Advisory Director of the World Society for the Protection of Animals, Honorary Secretary of the Russian Committee on Bio-Ethics attached to the Russian Academy of Sciences.
