News from the internet team

Since 1998, EVU has it's own website at http://www.ivu.org/evu, hosted by vegsource.com. You might've already looked for an article of "European Vegetarian" or a member's address there. The start page is offered in as many as twenty-one languages and more than twenty people contribute to the website.

Maintaining such a website is a very challenging task. For about nine months, our internet team has worked to improve its infrastructure. In this process, we found a great tool which helps us doing our job in a much more efficient way - Typo3, available for free at www.typo3.com. Using typo3, we now completely re-design the webpage. And consequently, EVU will have a lot more to offer to you via the internet! "EVU 2.0" is currently built at our new internet location, www.european-vegetarian.org.

As done so far, visitors will be informed about the organization, our members and vegetarian topics. New and up-to date information will become available on a regular basis. But the real innovation is a seperate section for active veggies which will give you lots of tools and resources that help you doing your work even more effectively: Promote your events via EVU, get information about software that'll help you work, send press releases and requests for information via the internet, make use of our Veggie Restaurant database to efficiently manage your data! Lots of reasons to visit our "Veggie's Workplace", don't you think? ;-)

Business Persons and Journalists will also find a special section dedicated to their needs. With this approach, we will bring together all the different parties that have an interest in vegetarianism. EVU now makes its mission a reality in the internet and becomes a true "umbrella" organization for the entire vegetarian Europe.

In order to make this vision come true, we need YOUR help. There are never enough hands to add contents, translate and answer queries. Visit our website and find out how you can contribute, or simply send an email to our webmaster Andi Moser at evuwww@ivu.org

It's easy, we're just an email away from you. Join our friendly team and enjoy a spirit of international co-operation for a good cause!
